Chesterfield vs Scunthorpe United preview - Evatt could boost Spireites

Ian Evatt could return to the Chesterfield squad for the FA Cup third-round replay against Scunthorpe.

The central defender has missed all three of the Spireites' matches so far in 2015 with a calf complaint but he may be fit enough for a place on the bench on Tuesday night.

Jimmy Ryan will be involved, despite not being fully fit. The midfielder returned from a four-match absence with a groin problem as a second-half substitute against Port Vale at the weekend.

On-loan striker Mani Dieseruvwe has not been given permission to play in the FA Cup, despite his parent club Sheffield Wednesday having been knocked out of the competition.

Scunthorpe boss Mark Robins will be forced to make changes as new loan signings Tom Hopper and Jacob Murphy, plus fellow loanee Luke O'Neil are all ineligible.

That could see a return to the starting line-up for striker Lyle Taylor, Hakeeb Adelakun and fellow midfielder Sean McAllister, who all started on the bench in Saturday's win at Walsall.

Midfielder Isaiah Osbourne is hoping to return to contention after missing the last two games through illness, while defenders Eddie Nolan and Niall Canavan are among those pushing for recalls.

The Iron let slip a two-goal half-time lead in the original tie at Glanford Park which ended 2-2, while the winners will travel to the iPro Stadium in round four to face Sky Bet Championship promotion hopefuls Derby.
