Neither Monaco nor Bordeaux were able to make up telling ground on the top four in Ligue 1 as they played out a goalless draw on Sunday night.
Bordeaux's Thomas Toure came closest to finding a winner when his shot in the 81st minute came back off a post.
The draw left Monaco fifth, five points behind fourth-placed Paris St Germain, with their opponents one point and one place further back.
Lucas Ocampos had a sight of goal for Monaco after only three minutes after the ball fell to him in the area, but Cedric Carrasso blocked his shot.
At the other end Toure tested Danijel Subasic with a curling free-kick, but the hosts had the better of the first half.
Joao Moutinho found Ocampos on the right of the area, but his left-footed effort went just wide.
The pair linked up again as Moutinho's corner from the right picked out Ocampos, whose header was cleared off the line by Diego Contento.
The home side continued to look the more dangerous early in the second half and Bernardo Silva burst forward before bringing a decent save out of Carrasso.
Bordeaux finally began to pose a threat of their own as the half wore on.
An unmarked Gregory Sertic fired over before Jaroslav Plasil picked out Toure 25 yards out and the and the forward raced toward goal before unleashing a shot which Subasic kept out.
Toure was inches away from breaking the deadlock with nine minutes to go when he beat Tiemoue Bakayoko and tried his luck, but the ball came back off the left post.
At the other end Carrasso had to be alert to stop Moutinho's close-range header as both sides had to make do with a point.
