Frank Lampard has finally signed for MLS side New York City FC after a week of speculation and rumors about his contractual situation.

Lampard was said to have signed a two-year deal for New York last August, with the former Chelsea midfielder expected to join the club this month after embarking on a short-term deal with Manchester City, which began last September.
But the former England international decided to extend his so called loan with Manchester City until the end of the Premier League season, therefore delaying the beginning of his time in the MLS until this summer.
DEAL FINALLY STRUCK
However, reports then emerged that Lampard had never even signed a two-year contract with New York back in August. Rather, Lampard only had an agreement, a revelation that left New York fans furious.
Lampard finally officially confirmed his desire to play for New York today by putting pen to paper on a two-year deal, confirming that he will make his MLS debut in the summer once his commitments with Manchester City officially end.
