Hibernian FC 3 - 3 Falkirk : Cummings hat-trick in vain for Hibs

Posted Sunday, January 11, 2015 by PA

Hibs striker Jason Cummings fired a first-half hat-trick but Falkirk fought back to earn a 3-3 draw in the Scottish Championship.

Cummings needed only 11 minutes to grab his first, with his deflected shot finishing a quick Hibs break.

The hosts were briefly pegged back seven minutes later when John Baird converted Will Vaulks' clever pass.

Cummings was at it again in the 39th minute when he diverted Liam Fontaine's header goalwards and he completed his first career treble three minutes later when heading home Martin Boyle's cross to make it 3-1 at the interval.

But the Bairns rallied after the break and reduced their deficit when home defender Liam Craig put through his own net just before the hour.

Peter Grant earned a fighting point seven minutes later as he drilled home from inside the area.
