Brechin City vs Ayr Utd. preview - City hopeful on McAusland

Brechin manager Ray McKinnon is hoping to have Kyle McAusland back at the club for a second spell this season from Rangers ahead of kick-off against Ayr.

McAusland missed out on the 2-0 win over Forfar last weekend as his loan deal had expired, however McKinnon is working on bringing him back after Jamie Masson returned to Aberdeen at the end of his loan spell.

Callum Tapping remains out with a knee injury, with McKinnon warning his men to be wary of Ayr.

He said: "Our opponents have just appointed Ian McCall as their new manager and that adds a very different dimension to this game."

Ayr begin life under McCall with the manager making his first signing move by bringing in defender Morgyn Neill on loan from Motherwell.

Paul Slane is missing for the Honest Men through a ban, with a knee injury keeping Martyn Campbell absent while Peter Murphy is out with a back injury.

Craig Beattie has a 50-50 chance of playing after a knock.

McCall said: "I am excited to be back in football and I am nervous as well. We are short of bodies at the moment but the players that play have a real chance to impress me against a Brechin side that are on a good run."
