Raith Rovers vs Queen of South preview - Raith low on numbers

Raith manager Grant Murray has lost defender Ross Perry from his squad to face Cowdenbeath after his contract expired this week.

Goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert is still out after shoulder surgery with striker Christian Nade, who was in line for a starting place after a scoring substitute appearance last weekend, one of five players to miss training this week due to illness.

Murray said: "I will wait until Saturday before choosing my team as I want to check energy levels after this illness bug. We have won two games in a row and are very keen to make it three and we need a strong side to do that."

Queen of the South add new recruit Mark Millar after the former Celtic, Dundee United, Falkirk and Peterhead midfielder agreed a deal until the end of the season.

Missing for the Doonhamers are John Baird, who has left for Falkirk, goalkeeper Zander Clark with a foot injury and Chris Mitchell and Stephen McKenna, who need game time after lengthy spells out injured.

Player-manager James Fowler said: "We have done well against Raith this season and want to build on our good win over Livingston last weekend that was the perfect response after disappointing results against Cowdenbeath and Alloa."
