Wenger put eyes on Perrin transfer to secure top 4

Loic Perrin - Arsenal's January target

Freanch media revealed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger were eager to wrap up the transfer deal of Loic Perrin, and this rumor had been confirmed by the Saint-Etienne captain himself.

Recently Arsenal's woeful defensive performance saw them suffered unwanted defeats in the Premier League, and prompted questions about manager Arsene Wenger's suitability for the post. In order to strengthen their defensive shield, Wenger urgently need an all- round defender in the back ends to organise their defensive line, get the shied in place and position people.

Under this circumstance, the first player emerging in Wenger's mind is his countryman Loic Perrin. Loic Perrin have excellent foot work and resolute defensive mind. Under his guidance on the pitch, Saint-Etienne's defensive line only conceded  12 goals in this season so far, which is the lowest number of goals conceded in Ligue 1.

Arsenal see short of defensive line talent

Beside his indivual skill, Wenger also have a good relationship with this experienced defender, he said Perrin no only know how to defend on the pitch, but know how to play in multiple position if needed. Date back to 2008, Arsenal had rumor with this French once, this time the rumor may turn into a reality.

Perrin have confirmed Arsenal showed interest in his switch, but they didn't offer clear price yet. It's reported that currently Perrin's price in the transfer market is about 5.5 million pounds. In order to secure their top 4 position in the second half season, Wenger and the club need a comprehensive defender to play instrumental role in their defensive line. Therefore Arsenal would be willing to pay the bill to  wrap up the deal.
