Scunthorpe vs Chesterfield preview - Robins to shake up Scunthorpe squad

Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins will select from a much-changed squad when Chesterfield visit Glanford Park in the FA Cup.

The Iron are without a game since Boxing Day, due to their league game at Sheffield United being postponed and the Spireites having to replay their second-round tie at MK Dons. Since then, loan players Richard Brindley, Shaun Brisley, Bobby Olejnik and Luke Williams have all returned to their parent clubs.

However, David Mirfin and Niall Canavan are fit again after injury, leaving them to fight for two central defensive berths along with Alex Davey, whose loan from Chelsea has been extended, Miguel Llera and Andrew Boyce.

Luke Waterfall is also back at the club after his loan spell at Mansfield, although Billy Kee, unavailable for selection recently due to a "personal issue", could be about to go out on loan.

Ollie Banks comes back into the reckoning for Chesterfield.

Banks was ineligible against MK Dons on Friday night as a loan spell at Northampton meant he was not available for the original tie at the beginning of December, when the Spireites had their place in the third round taken away after it emerged they had fielded an ineligible player - on-loan Wolves centre-half Georg Margreitter.

Fellow midfielder Jimmy Ryan will continue to miss out through injury, as will centre-half Ian Evatt.

Chesterfield signed Emmanuel Dieseruvwe on loan from Sheffield Wednesday last week but the teenage forward will not be involved.
