Stranraer remain three points clear at the top of the Scottish League One after a comfortable 2-0 win at lowly Ayr.

Goals in either half from Craig Malcolm and Jamie Longworth gave The Blues a fifth win from six games and keeps them clear of second-placed Forfar.

Stranraer were straight on to the front foot and Jackson Longridge missed from close range early on before they took the lead five minutes before the break when Malcolm latched on to Sean Winter's long ball and slotted home.

Longworth put the game to bed with 14 minutes remaining when he headed Willie Gibson's cross into the top corner.
