Bolton Wanderers vs Wigan Athletic preview - Lee to miss cup clash

Lee Chung-yong will miss out for Bolton against Wigan.

The South Korean midfielder has linked up with his country ahead of the Asia Cup and depending on their progress, Lee could miss the entire month of January.

Matt Mills is a doubt after picking up a knock in the loss to Huddersfield, yet Craig Davies and Kevin McNaughton (both hamstring) will be welcomed back into the squad.

Wanderers' casualty list remains lengthy, with Joe Mason (hamstring), Mark Davies (knee), Marc Tierney (ankle) and Max Clayton (knee) all long-term absentees.

Wigan will be without Callum McManaman and Grant Holt.

McManaman begins a three-game suspension for the 2013 champions following his red card in the midweek loss to Sheffield Wednesday at the DW Stadium.

Striker Holt was due to come back into the team upon his return from his Huddersfield loan, but the 33-year-old damaged cruciate ligaments in his knee during the final game of his spell and now faces up to a year on the sidelines.

The departure of midfielder Roger Espinoza, who is heading back to the United States, was also confirmed this week, while Leon Barnett (hamstring) and Martyn Waghorn (shoulder) are still out.
