Peterborough United - Doncaster Rovers preview - Jack is a Payne for Posh

Peterborough captain Jack Payne is a concern for the visit of Doncaster.

Payne came off after less than half an hour against Chesterfield on Boxing Day complaining of dizziness and nausea and the midfielder will be assessed. Left-back Kgosi Ntlhe (knee) missed out at the Proact Stadium and the South African remains a doubt.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson is likely to change his side's formation on Sunday, moving away from a midfield diamond, in order to accommodate main playmakers Marcus Maddison and Erhun Oztumer.

Defeat for Peterborough would see them equal a club record of five straight home league losses.

Forwards Kyle Bennett and Nathan Tyson will struggle to make the trip so Doncaster are likely to have an unchanged squad.

Bennett missed out against Coventry with hamstring and thigh issues while Tyson has been nursing a calf complaint recently.

Following the 2-0 win over the Sky Blues on Boxing Day, Rovers boss Paul Dickov is not expected to make many changes to his starting line-up. Marc De Val Fernandez and Curtis Main might come into the Scot's thinking should he wish to freshen things up in midfield or up front.

Jamie McCombe was fit enough for a place on the bench on Boxing Day but fellow defender Rob Jones (knee) is still not ready to be considered for a first-team return.
