Airdrie United 3 : 0 Ayr Utd. - Prunty at the double for Airdrie

Bryan Prunty bagged an early brace to help Airdrie see off Ayr United with a 3-0 Scottish League One victory at Excelsior Stadium.

Prunty put the hosts ahead after just eight minutes when striking with a close-range header and then doubled the advantage 12 minutes later when tucking a left-foot shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Jim Lister almost made it three in the second half before any thoughts of an Ayr fightback ended with the dismissal of Paul Slane for a bad foul on Patrick Boyle with 73 minutes gone.

Kevin McKinlay's own goal six minutes later capped off a frustrating afternoon for the visitors, who have now gone nine games without a win.
