Leyton Orient 4 : 1 Crawley Town - Dagnall double boosts O's

Leyton Orient recorded only their second home league win of the season with a 4-1 victory against Crawley thanks to two goals from Chris Dagnall and one apiece for Dean Cox and David Mooney.

Cox opened the scoring after just six minutes when his free-kick from the edge of the penalty area flew past Crawley goalkeeper Brian Jensen into the top corner.

The visitors were back on level terms within four minutes when former O's midfielder Jimmy Smith scrambled the ball across the goalline after a header from Matt Harrold had hit the post.

The tireless Dagnall restored Orient's lead in the 19th minute when he ran on to an inswinging cross from Cox to send his header past Jensen's outstretched right hand.

Orient were forced to replace goalkeeper Adam Legzdins with substitute Gary Woods in the 71st minute after the former appeared to injure a shoulder.

It was the home side though that promised to add to the score with Josh Wright and Mooney coming close before the latter put the result beyond doubt with three minutes of normal time remaining.

The striker pounced on a loose ball to power his shot into the net from close range after Jensen had parried Dagnall's shot.

Dagnall completed the rout in time added on when applying the finishing touch to Bradley Pritchard's cross.
