Wycombe Wanderers vs Luton Town preview - Ainsworth to return for Chairboys

Posted Wednesday, December 24, 2014 by PA

Wycombe hope to have Gareth Ainsworth back in charge for the home clash with Luton.

The Chairboys boss missed their 1-1 draw with Accrington last weekend having been struck down by illness but he looks likely to be back on the touchline as the leaders look for yet another win.

Wycombe have named the same line-up in their last two games and could do the same once more against the Hatters as Ainsworth has no injury or suspension worries.

If he does decide to shuffle his pack then Stuart Lewis, Matt Bloomfield and Steven Craig could all come into contention.

Luton have no new problems and manager John Still could name an unchanged team following the 3-0 home win over Newport.

Should Still feel the need to freshen things things up, the likes of Fraser Franks, Jake Howells, Ross Lafayette and Ricky Miller could come into the reckoning.

Paul Benson (broken leg), Luke Guttridge (foot), Alex Lawless (foot) and Pelly Ruddock (hamstring) remain out but the quartet should be back in contention early in January.

Luton are without an away win in four matches but ending that run at Adams Park could see the Hatters replace their opponents at the top of the table - if other results go in their favour.
