Stuttering Paris St Germain missed the chance to go top of Ligue 1 as Montpellier held them to a 0-0 draw at the Parc des Princes.

PSG had suffered a shock 1-0 loss at Guingamp in their previous league outing.

And there was further disappointment for the reigning champions on Saturday afternoon as they failed to find get the better of the 2012 French title-winners in their final match before the winter break.

Laurent Blanc's side remained second, level on points with leaders Marseille and two clear of third-placed Lyon, having played a game more than the pair, both of whom are in action on Sunday.
