Dunfermline 0 : 1 Stranraer - McKeown fires Stranraer top

Posted Sunday, December 21, 2014 by PA

Frank McKeown scored the only goal of the game as Stranraer moved to the top of the table with a 1-0 victory over Dunfermline.

Chances were at a premium in a poor first half with neither side able to create many genuine opportunities on goal.

Christopher Aitken had the visitors best chance just after the half-hour mark but was foiled by an excellent stop from goalkeeper Ryan Scully.

The hosts went a little closer through Joshua Falkingham after the break but he also failed to beat David Mitchell who was in equally fine from in the opposite goal.

But McKeown did break the deadlock just before the hour mark when he fired into the roof of the goal after Aitken's corner was not cleared.

Ryan Wallace forced another fine save from Mitchell in the closing stages as the Blues held on to edge past Forfar into pole position.
