Ayr Utd. 2 : 2 Stirling Albion - Beattie earns Ayr late point

Posted Sunday, December 21, 2014 by PA

Craig Beattie hit a last-gasp equaliser as Ayr snatched a 2-2 draw against bottom side Stirling.

The former West Brom and Swansea striker buried his fourth goal of the season in the 90th minute when Peter Murphy's long free-kick was swept into his path.

Alan Forrest had given Ayr the lead 10 minutes after the interval when he tucked away Ryan Donnelly's pass.

But Steven Doris turned the game on its head with two goals in 14 minutes, the first a superb free-kick from 25 yards in the 66th minute.

Doris then slotted in Graham Weir's cross but Beattie denied Albion only their second win of the season.
