Hearts 2 : 0 Alloa Athletic - Hearts sweep aside Alloa

Posted Sunday, December 21, 2014 by PA

Scottish Championship leaders Hearts maintained their 100 per cent home record with a routine 2-0 win over lowly Alloa.

The Jambos took the lead in the 16th minute when Jamie Walker found James Keatings and he fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

It was 2-0 just before the half-hour mark with Walker again involved, this time exchanging passes with Callum Paterson, who poked the ball past Alloa goalkeeper Craig McDowall at the near post.

Alloa came close to pulling a goal back four minutes before the break when Stephen Simmons hit a post after Hearts keeper Neil Alexander had spilled Ryan McCord's corner.

The woodwork also thwarted Hearts 10 minutes into the second half when Miguel Pallardo's 20-yard curler hit the crossbar.
