Forfar Athletic vs Airdrie United preview - Loons lose old head Young

Derek Young will be the only absentee for table-topping Forfar when they host Airdrie.

Young, 34, has a knee problem, and Loons assistant boss Ian Campbell has warned his players that they have to be at their best to beat the Diamonds.

He said: "Airdrie deservedly defeated Dunfermline 3-1 last week and gave us a really difficult game earlier in the season as well. They have real strength in their defence and two very good forwards in Bryan Prunty and Jim Lister so we have to keep performing at the levels we have been.

"We are leading the table at the moment and want to keep it that way by winning."

Airdrie should have the same squad that defeated Dunfermline, with only David Proctor unavailable to manager Gary Bollan due to a groin injury.

Bollan said: "As well as having the same squad I am looking for the same level of performance as last Saturday. The players set a high standard and cannot let it drop.

"The last time we played Forfar there was very little between the teams with a late goal giving them a 2-1 win so we can go there with a bit of confidence. It will be a hard fought game, however the team that turns up wanting it most on the day will win."
