Cheltenham Town vs Portsmouth preview - Vaughan boost for Buckle
Posted Friday, December 19, 2014 by PA
Cheltenham boss Paul Buckle will be able to call on Lee Vaughan for the first time when they host Portsmouth.
The right-back saw red 25 minutes in to Mark Yates' final match as Robins boss and his replacement Buckle revealed that Vaughan has been training well and he looks likely to be involved.
Another defensive boost for Buckle is the return of Steve Elliott, who has not featured since November 15 having picked up an injury against Stevenage but he has been given the green light to return.
Zack Kotwica stepped off the bench to fire home a stunning equilser at Mansfield last weekend and the youth product will hope to have done enough to earn a start.
Pompey's top scorer Jed Wallace is available again after serving a one-match ban.
Boss Andy Awford could also welcome back a host of players from injury with Jack Whatmough, Adam Webster, Danny East and Andy Barcham all in contention.
Whatmough and Webster have recovered from knee injuries, fellow defender East is fit after a long-term groin issue - although he may not be risked just yet - and winger Barcham has shaken off his recent groin trouble.
Wes Fogden, Tom Craddock and James Dunne remain sidelined by knee injuries.
