Morecambe vs Luton Town preview - Shrimps pair back from bans

Posted Friday, December 12, 2014 by PA

Morecambe will be able to call upon Kevin Ellison and Alan Goodall again against Luton.

The pair both sat out the 1-1 draw with Stevenage in the Shrimps' last game due to one-match suspensions they had triggered following the accumulation of five yellow cards.

Jim Bentley's men have had no game for two weeks and the likes of Jack Redshaw (back) will have benefited from the extra rest.

Scott Davies should continue between the sticks, with Barry Roche (hip) out for the remainder of the campaign.

Shaun Whalley will be back for Luton but the Hatters are still beset by injury problems.

Whalley sat out the FA Cup draw at Bury due to a knock but the midfielder has trained this week, while Ross Lafayette has recovered following hernia surgery.

However, Paul Benson, Luke Guttridge, Alex Lawless, Pelly Ruddock and Curtley Williams are all still injured, while Charlie Walker could be a doubt after suffering an injury in training on Thursday.

Benson (broken leg) remains a month away from a return while Guttridge is set to undergo a course of injections in a bid to heal a foot injury. Lawless (foot) and Ruddock (hamstring) are close to comebacks but Williams is due to have his shoulder pinned after dislocating it twice this season.
