Leyton Orient vs Peterborough United preview - Liverani set to take reins

Fabio Liverani takes charge of his first game at Leyton Orient when Peterborough visit Brisbane Road.

The former Italy international, Orient's fourth boss this season, could recall skipper Nathan Clarke after he was rested for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Gillingham on Saturday.

Fellow defender Andrea Dossena and striker Jay Simpson are doubts after missing that match with hamstring injuries while midfielder Lloyd James (broken leg) and veteran frontman Kevin Lisbie (shoulder) are long-term absentees.

Liverani will also be without forward Chris Dagnall, who serves the second game of his three-match ban following his recent red card at Bradford.

Under-fire Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson sees his squad swelled by the return of three players.

Forward Marcus Maddison is fit again after missing the FA Cup defeat at Colchester with a virus and an ankle injury.

On-loan pair Craig Mackail-Smith and Harry Beautyman were both ineligible last weekend but come back into the reckoning for the trip to east London. Brighton did not want Mackail-Smith cup-tied, while midfielder Beautyman, who came through the youth ranks at Orient, had already played in the FA Cup for Welling.

Ferguson, whose side have lost six of their last eight games in all competitions, also has the likes of Michael Smith, Luke James, Kyle Vassell, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Ricardo Santos pushing for recalls.
