Birmingham vs Reading preview - Zigic set for second Brum bow

Posted Friday, December 12, 2014 by PA

Nikola Zigic is available for Birmingham when they face Reading as he has received the visa entry clearance on his passport that he needed after rejoining the club until the end of the season.

Wes Thomas is also back after serving a three-game ban for his sending-off against Cardiff last month.

Paul Robinson will be assessed after having stitches in his foot while Andrew Shinnie (ankle) is fit.

Gavin Gunning, Matt Green (both knee) and Jonathan Spector (thigh) are still long-term injury absentees.

Reading will check on Hal Robson-Kanu after he limped off during last week's goalless draw against Bolton with a hamstring problem.

Nigel Adkins is hopeful the Wales winger will be available, and if he is passed fit the Royals boss will have an unchanged squad.

Adkins remains without a host of players, though, with Jamie Mackie (hamstring), Pavel Pogrebnyak and Anton Ferdinand (both calf) not ready to return.

They are joined in the treatment room by long-term casualties Hope Akpan (shoulder), Danny Guthrie (calf) and Jem Karacan (knee).
