Charlton Athletic vs Blackpool preview - Jackson blow for Addicks

Posted Friday, December 12, 2014 by PA

Charlton will be without skipper Johnnie Jackson when they entertain Blackpool.

The experienced midfielder suffered a calf injury during last weekend's 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest and could face a few weeks on the sidelines.

Jackson's place could go to Yoni Buyens if he can shake off the hamstring problem which has kept him out of the last two matches.

Nick Pope continues in goal in place of Stephen Henderson (shoulder) while winger Franck Moussa (knee), striker Simon Church (shoulder) and left-back Rhoys Wiggins (foot) also remain on the injured list.

Blackpool have no new injury or suspension concerns as they bid to extend their three-match unbeaten run.

Steven Davies looks set to retain his place in attack after overcoming a long-term groin problem and scoring in his last two games.

The Seasiders are unable to welcome back any of their four injury absentees, though.

Gary MacKenzie (Achilles) is set to return to training in the new year but he currently remains sidelined along with Jose Miguel Cubero (ankle), Tom Barkhuizen (broken arm) and Jacob Mellis (hamstring).
