Colchester United - Peterborough United preview - Packwood out for U's

Colchester will be without new loan signing Will Packwood for their home FA Cup second-round tie with Peterborough.

The Birmingham defender, brought in on an emergency loan last week, was sent off on his debut in last Saturday's 6-0 defeat at MK Dons and sits out a one-game ban.

That leaves boss Tony Humes short at the back as Magnus Okuonghae is recovering from surgery to repair Achilles tendon damage while fellow defender Frankie Kent has been out for several weeks due to a knee injury.

Humes could be tempted to make one or two tactical changes following last week's thrashing with defender Sean Clohessy and midfielder George Moncur pushing for recalls.

Peterborough will be without Craig Mackail-Smith for the tie.

Mackail-Smith rejoined Darren Ferguson's side on loan from Brighton last week and went straight into the starting line-up against Bristol City last Friday, but his parent club do not want him to become cup-tied and have refused Posh permission to play him in the competition.

However, fellow striker Aaron Mclean, also back at the club on loan from Bradford, has got the green light to feature.

Another recent signing, Harry Beautyman, is cup-tied while Marcus Maddison is a doubt after taking another knock to the ankle during his surprise comeback against Bristol City.
