Oldham Athletic AFC 0 : 1 Doncaster Rovers - Return to remember for Dickov

Doncaster booked their place in the FA Cup third round thanks to a 1-0 victory at Oldham.

Genseric Kusunga's late own goal settled a tight game as Rovers boss Paul Dickov made a successful return to his former club where he spent three years.

Both sides missed chances in the first half, with Doncaster's Richie Wellens seeing his 10-yard shot saved by home goalkeeper Paddy Kenny.

Oldham top scorer Jonathan Forte was denied by the onrushing Sam Johnstone before the loose ball was fired over by Jabo Ibehre.

George Elokobi also went close for the Latics as he headed off target from Joseph Mills' left-wing free-kick.

Johnstone made two saves from Danny Philliskirk either side of the hour mark, first keeping out a glancing header and then diving full length to parry an 18-yard drive.

Rovers created a clear chance when Theo Robinson's first-time shot was well saved by the veteran Kenny.

And they broke the deadlock with four minutes to go as Kenny dived to punch clear an Enda Stevens cross but the ball cannoned back off Kusunga, who could not keep it out of his own net.
