Stranraer 2 - 0 Greenock Morton - Malcolm knocks Morton off the top

Two goals from Craig Malcolm saw Stranraer end their horrendous run against Morton with a 2-0 win.

The last four meetings between the sides had all ended in Morton wins with an aggregate score of 25-4, but Malcolm struck twice as the Blues moved above their opponents who had topped the table at the start of play.

The visitors, who were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Spartans last weekend, ended the game with nine men after Sean Crighton was shown a second yellow for a foul on Malcolm before Conor Pepper's infringement on Jackson Longridge saw him suffer the same fate.

But by then Malcolm had already punished them.

He first pounced after half an hour, diving to head in after Grant Gallagher's free-kick had come crashing back off the crossbar.

And the 27-year-old netted again two minutes into the second half, tapping in from Jamie Longworth's cross.
