Brechin City 1 - 1 Airdrie United - Lister leaves it late

Jim Lister pounced to rescue a point for struggling Airdrie as they claimed a 1-1 draw at Brechin.

The striker's 85th minute equaliser cancelled out Bobby Barr's opener just four minutes earlier as a quiet game burst into life late on.

The point kept Brechin fifth in Scottish League One, six points adrift of the play-off spots and lifted Airdrie up to eighth.

The hosts failed to have a shot on target in the first 70 minutes as Craig Molloy, Alan Trouten and Jamie Masson all fired off target in the first half.

Brechin struggled to make the breakthrough after the restart and Masson finally forced Andrew McNeil into his first save of the game 12 minutes from time.

But three minutes later Barr struck from close range with what looked like the winner - only for Lister to level soon after.

He headed in Patrick Boyle's cross to claim a priceless point in Airdrie's fight against the drop.
