Rangers boss Ally McCoist fears Lewis Macleod could be out for several weeks after he was stretchered off against Alloa on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old injured his hamstring as the Ibrox side suffered a shock 3-2 defeat in the Petrofac Training Cup semi-final and is now hobbling about on crutches.
The Light Blues face Cowdenbeath on Saturday but left-back Lee Wallace is still missing with an ankle knock while 'keeper Cammy Bell is out longer-term after shoulder surgery. But Stevie Smith does return from suspension.
The Blue Brazil are again short of numbers with the injured Kenny Adamson (foot), Dean Brett (foot), John Armstrong (ankle) and Craig Sutherland (knee) all ruled out while Callum Gallagher is not allowed to play against his parent club.
Colin Marshall has shaken off a knock to be included however Jon Robertson and Chris Kane both need to pass fitness tests before they can be part of manager Jimmy Nicholl's plans.
The Fifers boss said: "Rangers may have lost to Alloa however only last weekend they were really impressive against Kilmarnock. They will be looking for a reaction after losing on Wednesday so what was a hard game will be even harder."
