Preston North End vs Shrewsbury Town preview - Little boost for Preston

Andy Little could be welcomed back into Preston's squad for the FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury.

The ex-Rangers winger has been out of action since mid-September because of a calf injury but came through 80 minutes unscathed in a behind-closed-doors friendly in midweek.

On-loan strikers Jermaine Beckford and Bradley Fewster have permission to play in this competition by their respective parent clubs, which is good news for North End as Joe Garner and Jordan Hugill (both knee) remain on the sidelines.

Both Calum Woods (hamstring) and fellow defender Bailey Wright (groin) are expected to be back in training soon.

Shrewsbury have no fitness worries and could welcome back Andy Mangan.

The striker has been out for almost a month but boss Micky Mellon expects him to be available.

"Andy Mangan is 100 per cent fit," he told the club's official site.

"He's trained the last few days. He's been available for training every day so, touch wood, every available player we have at the football club is training so the physio is pretty redundant at the moment."
