Oxford United vs Tranmere Rovers preview - No Burns for U's
Posted Friday, December 05, 2014 by PA
Oxford will be without attacker Wes Burns when they host Tranmere in the FA Cup second round.
The Bristol City loanee featured for the Robins in their victory at Gillingham in the previous round so cannot feature for his new club.
Fellow forward John Campbell played in a preliminary round of the competition for Jarrow Roofing and is also unavailable as the U's look to see off their League Two rivals.
Head coach Michael Appleton received an injury blow this week when Patrick Hoban, who has been training with the first team before his January arrival from Dundalk, suffered ankle ligament damage in training.
Tranmere are sweating on the fitness of Cole Stockton.
The striker has a thigh strain which has prevented him from taking part in full training this week, and he now faces a late fitness test before the trip.
On-loan defender Will Aimson broke his leg last week and has had to have surgery, while Matt Hill (Achilles) is still out.
Loanees Shamir Fenelon, Steve Jennings, Calaum Jahraldo-Martin and Janoi Donacien all have permission to play from their respective parent clubs.
