Bordeaux 1 : 0 Lille OSC - Diabate seals win for Bordeaux

Bordeaux returned to winning ways in Ligue 1 with a narrow 1-0 victory against struggling Lille.
Cheikh Diabate's sixth goal of the season proved enough for Les Girondins as they recovered from a disappointing defeat in Marseille last time out, a result which brought to an end a run of two straight league wins.
The visitors have suffered contrasting fortunes of late and another defeat away from home extends their unwanted record of having not won a game in their last 10 in all competitions.
The hosts thought they had made the perfect start when Diego Rolan pounced on Thomas Toure's effort, after the young forward turned and shot against the post, but the linesman's flag went up to cut short the Uruguay striker's celebrations.
Bordeaux continued to dominate proceedings early on as they looked to capitalise on a Lille side lacking in confidence but Diabate failed to find the target before Toure worked Vincent Enyeama for the first time in the match with the Nigeria stopper passing his first test.
The visitors' well-drilled defence were proving a tough nut to crack though and Nolan Roux almost made them pay at the other end but Cedric Carrasso made a superb stop to prevent the former Brest striker after Marvin Martin played him in.
Neither side managed to make a breakthrough before the interval but, unsurprisingly, it was Bordeaux who drew first blood with 15 minutes played in the second-half.
Nicolas Maurice-Belay escaped down the right and his well-timed delivery found an unmarked Diabate who needed no second invitation to steer the ball beyond Enyeama.
Bereft of confidence, Lille failed to offer any kind of response and, as the game wore on, it was Les Girondins who looked the more likely to add a second.
Not for the first time, Diabate and Rolan linked up well but the latter could only fire straight at Enyeama before the Nigeria goalkeeper came off his line to deny Rolan again a few minutes later as Bordeaux saw out the victory.
