Hartlepool United FC 1 : 3 Wycombe Wanderers - Leaders Wycombe deepen Pools woes

Wycombe maintained their position at the top of Sky Bet League Two by beating basement club Hartlepool 3-1 at Victoria Park.
Paris Cowan-Hall, Matt Bloomfield and Alfie Mawson grabbed the goals as the encounter went with the form book, Marlon Harewood hitting a late consolation for beleaguered Pools.
The visitors went ahead in the 32nd minute when Paul Hayes' floated right-wing cross found a leaping Cowan-Hall, who rose above the defence to powerfully head past Scott Flinders.
Hartlepool should have levelled almost immediately from the spot after Harewood was felled with his back to goal. However, Neil Austin could only succeed in blazing the ball over the crossbar.
The league leaders had to wait until the 76th minute to double their lead as Bloomfield capped a fine counter-attack with a cool finish.
And they added a third soon after, Mawson placing a free header just inside the near post.
Harewood pulled one back for Hartlepool with a powerful finish from just inside the six-yard box, but it was too little too late.
