Toulouse vs Lorient preview - Casanova demands improvement

Toulouse coach Alain Casanova has urged his players to put in the hard work needed to turn around their current poor run of form in Ligue 1.

Just one win in five matches has seen TFC slip down to 13th in the table, four points above the bottom three.

Casanova is hopeful they can return to winning ways against Lorient on Saturday, but knows they need to raise their game.

"At this moment we have a knack for getting into difficult situations and it is imperative we win on Saturday," he told the club's official website.

"When we take the lead we then get into trouble, and perhaps there is a lack of pride to react and get back into the game. We also need to improve our communication on the pitch.

"The team are aware of their potential but we don't have time to feel sorry for ourselves. We must act immediately. It is not about looking for faults but about correcting our shortcomings. Everyone has to be aware of their responsibilities."

Lorient are even worse off than their opponents and are perched above the relegation zone on goal difference only.

However, a 1-0 win over Lens last weekend, which ended a run of four successive defeats, has done wonders for the team's confidence according to striker Benjamin Jeannot.

He told www.fclweb.fr: "The victory against Lens left us all feeling great mentally. We must now follow that up with another win so we can start to get our heads above water.

"The team are getting stronger on every level, in defence and attack. We are creating something good now.

"Toulouse are not doing very well either at the moment and they will want to show another side in front of their home fans. We will do everything to stop them."
