It had been claimed the former Arsenal striker had not seen his mother in over a year and was refusing to support her financially.
Haija Adebayor was reportedly having to sell polythene bags and padlocks to earn a living.
Speaking to Peace FM, the Togo international said: "I never sacked my mum from the house. She decided to leave the house."
"How am I going to be in touch with my mum if my mum is the one telling everyone that my work will not go forward, so I will just be on my side and do my thing."

Adebayor, who joined Tottenham from Manchester City, also pleaded with people to stop performing witchcraft on him.
"They should stop talking, they should stop doing Juju on me, they should leave me along," he added.
Juju is a term used in parts of Africa to describe certain spells used in witchcraft.
The row was started by his older sister Maggie who said: "Our mother is selling polythene bags, padlocks and other things on the Ghana-Togo border."
