Cowdenbeath vs Livingston preview - Double boost for Cowdenbeath

Posted Friday, November 21, 2014 by PA

Cowdenbeath have received a double boost ahead of meeting Livingston in a crunch game at the bottom of the table as Declan Hughes is available after a knock and Calum Gallagher has been cleared to play after suffering a mild concussion against Raith last weekend.

The Blue Brazil do, however, miss the injured John Armstrong (ankle), Kenny Adamson (foot) and Sammy Stewart (groin) with Dean Brett, Nat Wedderburn, Jon Robertson and Craig Sutherland facing fitness tests.

Manager Jimmy Nicholl said: "We lost to Raith last weekend but the determination put in by the players to cope with injury setbacks was terrific. I want that same determination against Livingston."

The Lions, who have slumped to ninth place, miss the experience of Burton O'Brien after the midfielder broke a thumb in four places.

Ankle injuries continue to keep Brad Donaldson and Mark Burchill sidelined with manager John McGlynn delaying naming his side until late checks on Simon Mensing, Craig Sives and Michael McKenna.

McGlynn said: "Goals are hard to come by so to get one chalked off incorrectly last week against Dumbarton was really disappointing. Instead of going 2-0 up we lost 2-1, so I'm hoping for better fortune in this game.

"I want us to open up a four-point gap on Cowdenbeath and then start climbing the table."
