Exeter City vs Shrewsbury Town preview - Bennett sidelined for Exeter

Exeter will be without Scot Bennett when they host Shrewsbury.

The City skipper suffered an ankle injury during their 2-2 draw at Newport last weekend and will miss the clash with Micky Mellon's Shrews but he could return at Accrington next Friday night.

The Grecians look likely to involve returning hero Ryan Harley in their squad as they look to extend a fine run which has seen them lose just one of their last 11 League Two fixtures.

Harley, who made over 120 appearances for the club as they rose from the Conference to League One, rejoined the club from Swindon on Thursday but his lack of games mean he may have to begin life back at St James Park on the bench. Jamie Reid, Jordan Moore-Taylor and Pat Baldwin all remain sidelined.

Shrewsbury will welcome back on-loan Fulham defender Jack Grimmer for the trip to St James Park.

The 20-year-old was not permitted to play in their FA Cup tie against Walsall by the Cottagers.

It means Ryan Woods is likely to slot back into midfield after playing at right-back in Grimmer's absence in their 1-0 win over the Saddlers.

Striker Andy Mangan also missed the replay win over Walsall on Tuesday but could return after what boss Mellon has described as a "niggle".
