Huddersfield loan signing Diego Poyet could make his first appearance for the club in the home game against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Midfielder Poyet was an unused substitute in the defeat at Fulham before the international break after arriving for an initial month on loan from West Ham.
Boss Chris Powell has no new injury or suspension worries, but strikers James Vaughan (calf) and Joe Lolley (hip), plus winger Adam Hammill, who has struggled with a succession of unrelated knocks, remain sidelined and will not be rushed back into action.
Forwards Nahki Wells and Danny Ward are among those pushing for recalls as Huddersfield bid to bounce back from successive away defeats.
Wednesday's new loan recruit Lewis McGugan is expected to make his debut for the club.
Watford midfielder McGugan joined the club on loan until January 1 this week and will be included in Stuart Gray's squad, which will also be boosted by the return of winger Roysten Drenthe from suspension.
Midfielder Sam Hutchinson (knee), defenders Joe Mattock (ankle) and Kamil Zayatte (hamstring), plus striker Caolan Lavery (knee) remain sidelined.
Forward Atdhe Nuhiu and midfielder Kieran Lee hope to return to the starting line-up as Wednesday chase their first league win in 10 matches.
