Blackburn Rovers vs Leeds United preview - Rovers trio still doubtful

Three of Blackburn's long-term injury absentees are still struggling ahead of Leeds' visit to Ewood Park.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer had hoped to welcome back Jason Lowe (foot), Tommy Spurr (groin) and Josh King (back) but the Whites' visit may come too soon for the trio.

Lowe and Spurr are still not training with the main group while Norway international King is even further away with his troublesome problem.

Striker Chris Brown (knee) is yet to make his Blackburn bow but he did score twice in a behind-closed-doors friendly in midweek but, having only played 45 minutes, he may need another game or two before he can come into first-team consideration.

Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn will make a late decision on whether to include midfielder Rudy Austin.

The Jamaica international is scheduled to return from international duty on Friday, but defender Giuseppe Bellusci (hamstring) is back in contention after injury and suspension while midfielder Tomasso Bianchi and striker Billy Sharp have shaken off knocks.

Skipper Jason Pearce partnered Liam Cooper in central defence in the home win against Blackpool before the international break and Redfearn must decide whether to stick with that pairing.

On-loan AC Milan midfielder Zan Benedicic will be sidelined until the New Year after having minor knee surgery as Leeds bid for a second league win on the road this season.
