Brechin City vs Forfar Athletic preview - Hamilton ban adds to Brechin's woes

Posted Saturday, November 15, 2014 by PA

Brechin will be without the suspended Colin Hamilton when their injury-hit squad faces Forfar in the Angus Derby.

Hamilton was dismissed in the midweek win against Stirling Albion and Brechin will also be without Kyle McAusland (hand), Callum Tapping (knee), Alan Trouten (groin), Craig Molloy (knee) and Ryan Ferguson (hamstring).

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "We had to work really hard to get the three points on Tuesday and take us to the fringes of the play-off race.

"Forfar have done well to lead the table and I would much rather be facing them with a full squad than one that is missing six players."

Leaders Forfar will be without Jim Paterson, who was sent off against Morton last week and the injured Mark Baxter (ankle), Derek Young (knee) and Danny Denholm (knee).

Boss Dick Campbell is set to include a trialist defender as he looks for the win to keep his men at the top.

He said: "I watched Brechin win in midweek and I was surprised at the risks their manager took during the game to get the three points.

"It paid off for him, but hopefully if they take risks against us they we will punish them."
