Southend United vs Hartlepool United FC preview - Binnom-Williams blow for Southend
Posted Friday, November 14, 2014 by PA
Southend will be without Jerome Binnom-Williams when they host Hartlepool.
The Crystal Palace loanee will miss a match for the first time since arriving at Roots Hall having picked up five yellow cards which means a one-game suspension.
With no natural replacement Phil Brown will decide between John White, Michael Timlin and Luke Prosser to fill the void against Pools this weekend.
Myles Weston also misses out as he has been featuring, and scoring, for Antigua this week against Haiti but he will return in time for the Tranmere clash.
Southend were on the receiving end of a cup upset last weekend as they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Chester.
Hartlepool pair Matthew Bates and Tommy Miller could return following injury.
Defender Bates has missed the last three games due to a calf strain and midfielder Miller has been sidelined for two games with a similar problem.
Pools will be further boosted by the return to contention of defender Scott Harrison (Sunderland) and striker Charlie Wyke (Middlesbrough) after the loanees were refused permission to play in last week's FA Cup win against East Thurrock.
On-loan striker Scott Fenwick is also available again after being cup-tied last week but winger Jack Compton and Stuart Parnaby (both knee) remain sidelined.
