Portsmouth 2 : 2 Aldershot Town - Shots hold Pompey

Aldershot held 10-man Portsmouth 2-2 at Fratton Park to force a replay in the battle of Hampshire's military superpowers on Remembrance Sunday.

Portsmouth took charge when Craig Westcarr won the Blues a penalty after 15 minutes after he was felled by Aldershot's Glenn Wilson.

Jed Wallace stepped up and sent Shots keeper Phil Smith the wrong way with a cool finish.

The Conference Premier club rarely posed Pompey a serious threat in the opening period, but they levelled in first-half stoppage time when Jordan Roberts side-footed home Dan Holman's cross at the far post.

Westcarr slammed his coat down in disgust after being replaced by Ben Close after 66 minutes.

And Close handed Shots the lead two minutes later when Kieron Forbes dispossessed him and crossed for Mark Molesley to net and send the 2,446 visiting fans behind the goal berserk.

Pompey equalised when Danny Hollands met Ricky Holmes' cross with a header from close range after 81 minutes.

A minute later, the Blues were reduced to 10 men when Paul Robinson was dismissed for a second yellow card. But they saw off late Shots pressure to earn a replay.
