Stevenage Borough vs Maidstone United preview - Barnard cleared for cup clash

On-loan forward Lee Barnard will be available for Stevenage's FA Cup first-round match with Maidstone.

The 30-year-old striker scored on his debut in last week's 2-2 draw at Tranmere and parent club Southend have given him permission to feature in the cup.

Strike partner Chris Beardsley limped off after just 26 minutes of that match at Prenton Park, with Simon Walton forced back into action following his own hamstring strain.

Jerome Okimo also came off the bench there after a spell on the sidelines but front man Calvin Zola remains absent due to an ankle problem.

Maidstone have a full-strength squad for the tie.

The Isthmian Premier Division side come into the match in good form having won their last nine games in all competitions.

They will be without highly-rated defender Ben Swift, who has agreed a six-month scholarship with Aston Villa.

Forward Frannie Collin will lead the attack after grabbing 14 goals so far this season and he will be supported by midfielder Alex Flisher, who is one behind Collin in the scoring charts.
