Norton United vs Gateshead preview - Norton target Heed scalp
Posted Saturday, November 08, 2014 by PA
Norton are aiming for a major scalp when they welcome Gateshead on Sunday in the first round of the FA Cup.
The Northern Premier side come into the match in good form after putting seven past Brigg Town last weekend.
Defender Paul Taylor misses out through suspension and is the only absentee for Norton.
The hosts have never played in the first round proper of the FA Cup but managed to make the fourth round of the FA Vase in 2012.
Gateshead boss Gary Mills will be missing a number of players for the trip to Staffordshire.
Midfielders JJ O'Donnell (foot) and Jamie Chandler (ear infection) are both sidelined while striker James Brown has an ankle problem.
Fellow forwards Carl Finnigan and Jon Shaw have also been ruled out with concussion and hamstring injuries respectively.
On-loan defender Calum Howe has returned to parent club Scunthorpe which could mean a reshuffle at the back.
