Peterhead 1 : 1 Dunfermline - Stevenson denies Dunfermline

James Stevenson headed in a late leveller to earn a 1-1 draw for Peterhead and prevent Dunfermline going top of Scottish League One.

Dunfermline appeared to be heading for a fourth consecutive away win after leading since the 19th minute when Faissal El Bakhtaoui, on his 22nd birthday, scored his sixth goal in as many games by heading in from Ross Millen's cross.

Rory McAllister was denied an equaliser when his header was blocked by Alex Whittle.

El Bakhtaoui forced a save from Graeme Smith shortly before the break, with the striker turning on the edge of the area before his effort was tipped behind.

In the second half Ross Forbes curled over from the edge of the area while Peterhead substitute Bryan Gilfillan wasted a header at the other end.

But with two minutes left, Stevenson steered his header past Ryan Scully to halt his side's two-match losing run.
