Oldham Athletic AFC vs Leyton Orient preview - Defenders still out for Latics

Posted Friday, November 07, 2014 by PA

Neither George Elokobi or Adam Lockwood are ready to return just yet for Oldham's FA Cup contest with Leyton Orient.

Latics had feared Elokobi could be out for as long as four months with a setback to his thigh strain, but now think he may yet feature this November.

Lockwood (foot) has yet to play this season but could be involved in some behind-closed-doors friendlies at the beginning of next week.

Goalkeeper Joel Coleman (knee) is a long-term absentee so recent recruit Neil Etheridge may make his first start between the posts.

Shane Lowry returns from suspension for Orient but Darius Henderson completes a three-match ban.

Boss Mauro Milanese has fresh injury concerns over forwards Shaun Batt (ribs) and Gianvito Plasmati (knee), both of whom look set to miss out.

Romain Vincelot (knee), Kevin Lisbie (shoulder), David Mooney (ankle), Adam Legzdins (finger) and Lloyd James (broken leg) all remain on the sidelines.

Milanese has signed former Liverpool and Sunderland full-back Andrea Dossena on a deal until the end of the season but he is more likely to make his debut against Northampton in the JPT on Tuesday.
