Gillingham vs Bristol City preview - Nelson set for Gills recall?

Stuart Nelson could replace Stephen Bywater in the Gillingham goal for the visit of Bristol City.

Bywater's mistake saw the Gills lose 1-0 at Fleetwood last week and he could be replaced while Callum Davies is struggling with a leg injury.

Boss Peter Taylor is under pressure after one win in 12 games but insisted he can turn their form around.

"I still believe I will turn it around and I still believe the players here are good enough. I still feel when we get everyone fit and raring to go we will get enough results," he told the Kent Messenger.

Bristol City will ring the changes and rest a number of their key players.

Steve Cotterill's squad have started the season with a 16-game unbeaten run and a lack of injuries has seen the same players performing every week for the Ashton Gate outfit.

That means the likes of Aden Flint, Kieran Agard, Luke Ayling, Frank Fielding, Wade Elliott and Aaron Wilbraham could all be handed the afternoon off.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Scott Wagstaff, Greg Cunningham and Wes Burns may all be handed rare starts.
