Sheffield Wed. vs Rotherham United preview - Drenthe out for Owls

Sheffield Wednesday will be without Royston Drenthe for the South Yorkshire derby with Rotherham at Hillsborough.

The on-loan Reading winger was sent off for two bookable offences during Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat to Bournemouth and will now serve a one-match ban.

Striker Stevie May, who turned down a move to the Millers in favour of the Owls in August, has fully overcome his virus and is expected to come into Stuart Gray's starting XI as they look to arrest an eight-game winless run in the Sky Bet Championship.

Sam Hutchinson, Joe Mattock, Kamil Zayatte, Caolan Lavery and Lewis Buxton are all still in the treatment room.

Rotherham have "cause for concern" over defender Kari Arnason as they make the short trip across the M1.

Iceland international Arnason stubbed a toe in Tuesday's disappointing 3-0 defeat at Reading and did not train on Thursday.

Boss Steve Evans warned his players that no positions are safe after that disappointing night at the Madejski Stadium, with the Millers boss more than likely to tinker with his line-up.

Richard Brindley (hamstring) and Luciano Becchio (heel) remain out as the Millers aim for a fifth successive win at the home of the Owls.
