Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano preview - Real streak no shock - Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is not surprised by Real Madrid's run of form as they look to make it 13 wins in a row against Rayo Vallecano.

The European champions have been in all-conquering form since a derby defeat to Atletico Madrid on September 13, and enter the weekend's fixtures a point clear at the top of the Primera Division.

They have been scoring goals for fun, with their 37 the highest in La Liga by 14, and it is difficult to see mid-table Rayo halting their charge on Saturday.

According to Ronaldo - the side's figurehead, who has 22 goals in all competitions already this season - the streak has not been a shock.

"The systems (Real are playing) are systems that we are used to and it is no surprise," he told his club's official website.

"We have the ball a little bit more than in recent years and the more you have it the more danger you can create.

"They system we have is practically the same and (Gareth) Bale has come back (from injury) and is in very good shape. We can go really far and we are only thinking about improving."

Rayo will hope that is not the case, with their recent form holding nothing to suggest they will cause the sort of upset Real were susceptible to early in the campaign.

Their last league win over Carlo Ancelotti's men came back in 1997 and they have lost nine straight games to the capital club, conceding 28 goals in the process.

Ronaldo, who collected the Golden Shoe award in midweek, enters the game in, by his standards, a drought, having failed to score against Liverpool on Tuesday.

The Portugal captain remains on top of his game, though, and has pepped Madrid up even further by suggesting he would like to stay with them beyond the end of his current deal.

"We will have to talk to (president) Florentino Perez," he said. "I'm very happy and in a great moment of form. Personally, and in sporting terms, everything is going well.

"I want to win and get as many trophies as possible with this club. I hope to finish my contract with Real Madrid at 33 and after that we will see if they want me to stay."

For Rayo goalkeeper David Cobeno, the situation is a simple one.

"You go there to enjoy (it)," he told his club's official website.

"It is a match where we have much to gain and little to lose. We will go out there, it is a nice game to play and we will enjoy the Santiago Bernabeu against an opponent who is playing well.

"Everyone is watching and we must do our best. We have to play our own game and create chances."
