Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear he wants to see out his contract with Real Madrid and is willing to consider a new deal with the Spanish side once it has ended.
Ever since he left in 2009, Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Manchester United and growing reports of him being unsettled in Madrid fuelled the growing rumours this summer.
Usually Ronaldo sits on the fence when questioned about his future but he has now insisted he wants to see out his contract with Madrid at the very least.
"I hope to finish my contract with Real Madrid at 33 and after that we’ll see if they want me to stay,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo‘s current deal would keep him in Madrid until he is at least 33 and if he were to sign a new deal at the end of his current one, there’s every chance Ronaldo could retire in the Spanish capital.
With 194 goals in 174 appearances, the current Ballon d’Or holder has gone on to have a spectacular career since leaving United and although he is an athlete who is likely to play well into his 30s, it looks like the only time Ronaldo could come back to Old Trafford is much further down the line.
